Our thanks to everyone who came to one or more of the congregational meetings to ask questions about the reordering of Church; it was very helpful to have everyone’s views and questions as we move to the next phase and bring everything together.

As we said at the meetings the reordering of church sprang out of the congregational questionnaires, focus groups and PCC away day of two years ago. Whilst we are aware that for some the process of change may seem very slow and cumbersome, it is important to spend enough time in the planning stage to get it right, not just for today but for the future.

Please rest assured that we will endeavour to get every aspect of the reordering right, including finding the right sort of seating for our church which is in keeping with the building. One concern raised was that the church would be turned into a community centre, this is not the case, (the church will still very much look and feel like a church), but we do want the church to be at the centre of the community.

The buildings committee will now work on the plans, taking into consideration everything raised at the congregational meetings, and Trust Funds and other fundraising sources will be pulled together.

Once the buildings committee have drawn up a more detailed plan there will be further consultation before the PCC applies for a faculty and Trust Funds are approached. There is still a lot of work to do and we are not sure at this time how long the process will take, but to get it right we must take all the time we need, so please be patient.
